Erg chigaga desert tour is a “must do” morocco desert tours the reason is that during this desert tour you’ll discover another flank of our beautiful country: the big Sahara desert.

Day 1: Marrakesh > Tizi N’Tichka > Ait Ben Haddou > Ouarzazate > Agdz

Leaving Marrakech early, you’ll cross the atlas mountains of Tizi N'Tichka (2200m), before reaching The standing proud Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, where you'll meet our 1st local guide who'll take you inside this fortress unique with an astonishing berber architecture Stunning earthen walls, surrounded by a thousand years old village, where you’ll get introduced to the locals lifestyle and learn how they survived the harshness of life during both cold and warm season and how this magical location has been the strategic meeting point between the caravans from Sub-saharian area and Europe, while walking through the narrow streets of this amazing fortress. Right after this visit, there will be time for some rest and for lunch before preparing yourself to go deeper into this 1001 Kasbah road by crossing the city of Ouarzazate and the mountain of Tizi N’Tiniffift (1660m) known for its descent twists over the canyon and through the oasis in the direction of Agdz where you'll spend the night in a magical place inside the palmgrove and with an amazing view of the mount Jbel Kissane.

Day 2: Agdz > Zagora > Tamegroute > M’hamid el Ghozlane > Erg Chigaga

Here comes the morning, after this amazing night, you'll start the tour again alongside of the Daraa valley and river by visiting the nearby Kasbah Timiderte standing lonely but proud in the top of the valley, thousand years old surrounded by a berber village in ruin with an amazing background full of Antiatlas mountains, right after that after a 60km drive you'll visit the second Ksar or Kasbah Tissergate 5 centuries old, where you can visit its museum of arts and roots, full of magical masterpieces and surrounded by a palmgrove as far as your eye can see, not far from Zagora, only 8km, you'll cross it before reaching the capital of pottery Tamegroute which was in the past the last stop for the trade caravans back in time before reaching Timbuktu, known for its quality of ceramics and pottery which you'll have the opportunity to see how it's made, then you'll hit the road through the village of Tagounite the door of the Desert to arrive then at the Erg Chigaga or Erg Chegaga where you'll find your local camel guide awaiting, to guide you through the high dunes of the desert looking like waves, riding your camels and enjoying this mythical moment during the sunset where you can take some amazing shots with those contrasted colors between yellow and red with the reflect of the sunshine on this shining sand particles. Once at the camp you'll be welcomed by nomads who'll meet you later at night to sing your names and dance during the night, then before going to sleep, you can just lay on the sand and watch the fascinating Milky way.

Day 3: Erg Chigaga > M’hamid > Ksar Amzaraou > Zagora > Tizgui waterfalls > Tamnougalt

After spending this amazing night surrounded by the desert dunes and stars, we'll go toward Tamnougalt crossing again the wonderful M'hmid el Ghizlane and the Daraa river where if you are lucky enough you'll see the berber ladies washing their cloths in this natural laundry then visit the Ksar Amazraou a village aged of many centuries, where you can visit its Kasbahs and specially pass by the old Jews synagogue Zagora where you can have your lunch and visit Kasbah Citadel before heading toward the Tizgui Waterfalls, a paradise in the heart of the desert where you can take some goods shots to share once back home with the family and friends. Later on this day you'll arrive to one of the old Kasbah of the region where you'll maybe spend the night called Kasbah des caïds and has been inhabited by an old powerful archduke family who ruled the whole area, during the time spend in this place you'll feel yourself like in the 14th century with all this decoration and way of living with the locals.

Day 4: Tamnougalt > Taznakht > Taliouine > Aoulouz > Ouirgane > Asni > Marrakech

During this last day from our tour, we’ll leave tamnougalte after having the rich breakfast, toward the West through the well known for textile and knotting handcraft Taznakht where you can have a quick stop to enjoy and get introduced to this craft and how it was preserved for more than 1000 years from now. Later on, you’ll cross the region of Taliouine very known for 2 things, the Saffron fields, Saffron from this region is the best and must known worldwide and the “Agadirs” which in berber means the “Grain Attic” which is in general a hardly accessible place where the locals leave the whole year stock of grains, fruits and veggies and which is protected by one of the locals each one his turn. After that you’ll be crossing the curvy road of Tizi N’Test before passing nearby the 1000 years old mosque of Tinmel driving alongside the lake of Ouirgane the red valley known for its red colored mountains and juniper trees or salt mines before crossing the Asni valley then Tahanaout village to reach Marrakech in the early evening where your amazing journey ends.
