Description

"The best of Morocco tour" allows to discover many aspects of the Moroccan beauty. You start from coastal area then cross the Atlas mountains to find out the roman ruins before reaching the merzouga desert out from a fairy tale and then the Kasbah of ait ben haddou and its 1001 Kasbahs road while heading to Essaouira and finishing the tour in Marrakech.

Day 1: Welcome to Casablanca

We'll come and pick you up from the airport to be dropped off at your hotel. You have some free time to have a Casablanca tour into the city if you arrive earlier as you can visit the Jewish museum, The mosque of hassan II as one of the modern-days architectural marvels and then the old medina with the Newtown that has been modelled like the french city of Marseille.


Day 2: From Casablanca to Meknes crossing Rabat:

Early in morning, you'll leave Casablanca for a Rabat tour where you'll meet your local guide to discover a city full of history as it has been been host to Roman settlements, pirates and Moorish. You can visit the Hassan mosque the Twin sister of Al Giralda mosque in Sevilla and Al Koutoubia in Marrakech, later on this rabat tour you'll visit the Oudayas Kasbah built in XII century by almohades before ending the tour at Chellah Necropolis that has been inhabited by Phoenicians and Carthagians and know for its romans ruins. Early evening you'll get to the city of Meknes to join your room and get some rest.


Day 3: From Meknes to Fez through the ruins of Volubilis

You'll have a brief Meknes tour by car before heading to the city of Fez, but first of all you'll cross the ruins part of UNESCO world heritage city of Volubilis tour that was back in time the capital of Mauretanian berber kingdom where you can still see the triumphal arch & Basilica temple., very known for being inhabited by latinised Christian community before falling into islamic hands and became the nest of Idrissid dynasty. You'll then be dropped off at your accommodation after this amazing adventure.


Day 4: Unlocking Fes city -Fes tour discovery

Our guide will come and join you at the riad for a full day guided Fes tour to discover the history and cultural aspects with an experienced guide that knows every cobbled corridor. You'll visit many monuments, starting cross-crossing the narrow streets of fes and discover the alluring charm of the medina and its markets. The tour goes to: Jewish Mellah, Jewish Synagogue, The Bou Inania Medersa, Dyers at souk of silk, wool and cotton, Seffraine Square, The tannery and many more before returning back to the accommodation and get some rest to prepare yourself for Another journey.


Day 5: From Fes to Midelt through the Tizi'N tlghoumte and Zaabal tunnel

You'll leave the medieval city of Fes to reach the Midelt berber village around early evening. You'll cross some amazing landscape on this journey from Fes to Midelt specially Tizi'N tlghoumte which looking like Utah rocky desert with its weird rocks formation before going through the Foum Zaabal tunnel dug in 1920 through rocks and arrive then to your hotel after this amazing drive through different landscape changing form mountainous to Desert climate and nature.


Day 6: Merzouga desert tour from midelt through the Ziz valley and Erfoud

Today, a 5 hours drive switching the scenery from mountainside to a more and more desert one. You'll cross the valley of Ziz looking like a huge oasis with its palmgrovre and the berber.and nomadic village of Erfoud where you'll see from far away coloured and black silhouette of berber and arab women easily distinguished by the colour of their clothes, the arabs are the ones in black in general. Once in Merzouga after driving through an archaeological huge site, you'll see from far away the magnitude of the desert dunes looking like frozen red and orange sea waves, where our camel guide will wait for you for a ride through this vast land to reach the camp in the heart of the merzouga desert where locals will welcome you with Moroccan mint tea and show you the tents where you'll spend the night and take a shower and join them back for a late night show around the campfire or just go and lay down on a dune to enjoy watching the milky way.

Day 7: Discover the Todra and Dades gorges and spend the night in Kasbah Ait ben haddou

Don't miss the sunrise, it's of the same beauty as the sunset, full of contrasted colours and mesmerizing reflection on the sand dunes. Later on you'll drive through long roads to reach the Todra gorges and walk through its Canyon to discover its magnitude of 700m height, then drive to see the Monkeys paws as we call them: a weird rocks formation that looks like inside of a hand, before crossing the valley of roses Kalaa M'gouna and the huge palmgrove of Skoura and then discover the city of Ouarzazate and its studios to reach early evening the Kasbsh of Ait ben Haddou where you'll spend the night and prepare yourself for a new adventure on the next day.


Day 8: Explore the Kasbah ait ben haddou and spend the night in the heart of the Atlas mountains

Our local guide will meet you at the accommodation to explain to you everything about kasbah ait ben haddou tour which is an opportunity to discover the locals lifestyle and how they survived into this harsh life conditions, Later on you'll cross the Tizi'N-tichka pass high of 2200m over the sea level full of landscapes, before reaching the village of imlil where you'll spend the night among the locals.


Day 9: Explore the Atlas mountains and drive westward to the Coastal area of Essaouira

Early in the morning, you'll wake up to enjoy your breakfast in a terrasse in front of the Atlas mountains then go for a walk to discover the area before meeting our driver who'll take you for a 5 hours driver from Atlas mountains to Essaouira located in the Atlantic ocean and very known for its narrow streets like a maze, for it's huge Portuguese fortress and the fishing port. One of Africa most attractive places, especially for great artists like Jemmi Hendrix and Orson Welles. As you'll arrive a bit earlier you will still have time to enjoy the nightlife in there, simply and modest, you can go out and try some live show restaurants while enjoying the tasty Moroccan food mixed with European cuisine before getting back to your riad and enjoy your night in cozy places between modern and medieval times.


Day 10: From Essaouira to Marrakech with a guided tour in Essaouira

Our guide will join you at your hotel to walk around the old medina (old town) to discover the mixture between the Berbers, Muslims, Arabs and Jewish traditions in this city very known for its multiracial and multiethnic heritage. You'll walk easily through the narrow streets not accessible by cars to discover behind the walls of Skala (Portuguese fortress) that has been built back in the 16th century and where you'll feel yourself you're back in the piracy era where pirates used to rules the coasts of Morocco. The Jewish Mellah (neighborhood) would be an amazing place to discover during this casual exploration. You can also get to the fishing port where you'll see people auctioning for fresh sea treasures that will be taken to restaurants for fresh meals. Later on, before meeting up with our driver you'll have some free time to walk nearby the beach or just lay on its soft sand before heading back to Marrakech, the pearl of Morocco. At the early evening, you'll arrive in Marrakech where you'll be dropped off at your accommodation to spend the night and relax.


Day 11: Marrakech tour : Full day guided Marrakech city tour

Our guide will meet you early in the morning to introduce himself and explain the Marrakech tour. Marrakech city is a feast of senses and colors, due to its multiple wool and silk market, leather and spices. During this tour you'll explore 2 aspects of the Marrakechi life as below: Historical: Jamaa El Fna Square, Koutoubia Mosque (1184-1199), Saadians Tombs (1524-1659), Badiaa Palace (1578-1593), Bahia Palace (1866-1867), Mederssa Ben Youssef (1570-1573), Almoravies dome (1117-1119) Cultural: Marrakesh souks: Dyers place, leather market, bazaars and handcraft workshops, Narrow streets The evening would be free time to enjoy the nightlife and chat with locals or relax in your accommodation to get a warm shower after a long 11 days journey so far.


Day 12: Free day in Marrakech city

Today will be the last day in Marrakech and Morocco, so you'll have a free day to explore the city again by yourselves or just to relax at the riad or we can organise a Spa day for you (extra of 70€/person) to prepare yourself for living next day.


Day 13: Transfer to Marrakech Airport
